Utah Beer News: Are Your Favorite Breweries Open?

Utah Beer News - Coronavirus Update

As we dip a toe into what will undoubtedly be a weird summer, more and more Utah breweries are reopening. Utah’s no longer simply a curbside to-go beer-drinking community.

Updated: June 8, 2020

That’s not to say our months-long nightmare is over. Far from it. Utah, while it’s loosened restrictions on dine-in service and larger gatherings, is still in the thick of fighting the coronavirus, or COVID-19.

As of May 26, the state had 8,620 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 101 coronavirus-related deaths.

Throughout Utah, many are moving to balance health and safety with the need to further support small businesses.

Scroll for the latest from each brewery during the coronavirus pandemic.

Salt Lake area breweries, bars, and restaurants were ordered to close to dine-in customers on March 17 in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus. On May 1, those same establishments were allowed to once again welcome customers for sit-down service.

For nearly two months, many businesses relied solely on to-go orders to stay afloat.

Since May 1, some breweries have continued with that model. Others reopened their taprooms and brewpubs for on-site consumption. And more are planning to reopen in the near future.

It’s a delicate balance with no easy answers. Fortunately, Utah Beer News hasn’t heard of any Utah breweries that have been forced to close permanently due to the shutdown.
